Click File and select Print from the menu to view all settings related to printing. Even though you've chosen to display the notes, PowerPoint does not print them by default. You can see exactly what is printed by looking at the Print Preview section.
Microsoft's PowerPoint for Mac lets you design and print handouts of your presentations. A handout can include between two and nine slides per page. You may display your presentation's notes if you format the handout to show three slides on a page. The various formatting options let you change the handout's orientation, hide or show page elements, as well as adjust the header and footer. If you don't want to show the slides on the handout, PowerPoint has a formatting option that prints an outline of the text on each slide.
1.
Launch PowerPoint and open your presentation. Click 'View.' Highlight 'Master' and click 'Handout Master.' This opens an interface that lets you change various elements displayed on a handout.
2.
Click 'Orientation' in the Page Setup group in the Ribbon. Select 'Portrait' to format the handout vertically or 'Landscape' to format it horizontally.
3.
Select the box next to each item you want to include in the Page Elements section. Options include adding a header, footer, date and page number to the handout. Clear the box next to any selected options you don't want to use.
4.
Select an option for the number of slides per page in the Slide Per Page group in the Ribbon. You can place two, three, four, six or nine slides on one page. If you want PowerPoint to show notes along with the slides, use three slides per page. Alternatively, click 'Outline' if you want to print a text-only outline of the content on your slides.
5.
Click 'Close' in the Master View group after finishing your handout. Click the 'File' menu and select 'Print' when you're ready to print the handout. Click the 'Print What' drop-down list and select the option that describes the number of slides to appear on each page. Click 'Print' to print the handout.
Tips
You can adjust the size of the header and footer by clicking its area on the handout and dragging the resizing handles that appear.
If you want to manually add text to the header or footer, click the location where you want to place the text. Type the text and click any area outside of the header or footer to save your work.
